March 10, 1972 – Akhara, Punjab, India
August 5, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kamaljit Kaur Saini, who left this world on August 5th, 2024, due to a sudden brain aneurysm.
Kamaljit Kaur was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend to many. Born to Lt. Sardar Harnek Singh Gill and Sardarni Jaswinder Kaur Gill in the Punjab region, she was the second eldest of four siblings, with whom she shared a close bond. As a dedicated nurse at a cancer hospital, she saved many lives through her compassionate care and commitment before immigrating to Canada in 1998.
She returned to Punjab briefly in 1999 to marry her husband, Gurtej Singh Saini. Together, they built a loving family, welcoming their two cherished children, daughter Manreet Kaur Saini (19) and son Galvin Singh Saini (16).
Kamaljit Kaur was known for her natural ability to make friends. Her warm and caring personality effortlessly drew people in. Whether she was shopping or at work, she made genuine connections wherever she went. She was the life of the party, bringing energy, laughter, and joy to all gatherings.
Her lively spirit was matched by her love for gardening, as she tended to her plants and friendships with the same enthusiasm. Her garden was a reflection of her vibrant personality, always full of colour and life.
Though her time with us was cut tragically short, the impact she made on her family, friends, and community will last forever.

My deepest condolences to Kam’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Kam at Subway for many years and she was one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve known in my life. Even after I left we’ve kept in touch over the years. I’m so thankful to have had Kam in my life.
She will be missed by all she has touched. Kam has left behind many family and friends. Condolences to the family
