Eqroop Kaur Mumick

November 21, 1973 – May 2, 2021

Our dear Eqroop Kaur Mumick left us all on May 2, 2021 at Peter Lougheed Medical Center in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She was born in New Delhi, India on November 21,1973 and was raised in Chandigarh, India by her mother Amarjit Kaur along with her elder sister, Manpreet Kaur. She was a very bright and intelligent student from her early teens and even later in adulthood. She did her schooling at the very prestigious Guru Nanak Dev Public School in Chandigarh, India and graduated in 1989. She later completed her B.A. and B.Ed. degrees from Punjab University in Chandigarh, India in 1994 and she taught at Saint Kabir Public School in Chandigarh, India.

Eqroop married Inderveer Singh Mumick on 18 May 1998 in Chandigarh, India and she immigrated to beautiful Calgary, Canada, which would become her new home, on December 20, 1998. She worked very hard and completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from the University of Calgary in 2004. She was a well-known and respected social worker in Calgary for the last twenty years and she worked at Homewood Health, Peter Lougheed Centre, Reeves College, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Aventa Center for excellence for women with addiction and the YWCA Sherriff King Home.

She gave birth to three beautiful children: Himat Mumick (13 years), twins Araya Mumick and Amaris Mumick (10 years old). When her twins were born, she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom so she could enjoy her beautiful twins and full-time live-in nanny was hired and next five years were her best.  Her kids were everything to her and she loved them very much. Her kids gave her extreme joy and excitement and they were the central focus of her life.

She was very social and humorous and made lots of good friends. Everyone enjoyed her interesting and fascinating stories, her vivacious laugh and her warmth. She left us all at the very early age of 47 years old and will be very dearly missed by family and friends.
