Gurdial Kaur Plaha, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Calgary, AB Canada on Friday May 21st, 2021.
Gurdial was born on October 3, 1936 in Shankar, Punjab, India. She came to Edmonton, Alberta Canada with her family in 1991 and had lived in Calgary since 2002.
Gurdial was preceded in death by her late husband, Harbhajan Singh Plaha and her parents Pitaji Swaran Singh Virdi and Mataji Parkash Kaur Virdi.
She is survived by her brother, Surinder Singh Virdi, and her children mentioned with their families as follows: daughter Arvinder Kaur and her husband Jaswinder Singh Notta, daughter Jagwinder Kaur, daughter Tarwinder Kaur and her husband Gurinder Singh Sohanpal, son Arundeep Singh Plaha and his wife Gurpreet Arun Plaha, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Gurdial was loved by her family across the world, including her niece Harpinder Kaur and her husband Avtar Singh Kenth.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 – 16 Street NE on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so between 12:00 pm and 12:45 pm.
Due to the pandemic protocol, a maximum of 10 people are allowed in the building at a time. Masks and social distancing are mandatory.

No one can tell or understand our relationship , Uncle ,you and I could only understand our relationship and love for each other. You was my everything and you wil be my everything. Since my childhood I wanted to be like you and still I do….full of grace,kind ,loving, no drama, no hate for anyone,no grudges and always smiling .
