MOHINDER KAUR SIDHU

Mohinder Kaur Sidhu was surrounded by her family, when she passed away at the age of 86, on  September 22, 2018.

In 1978, at the age of 45, she immigrated with her family, from India to Prince George, BC Canada. Eventually the family relocated to Calgary in 1981 and established their roots. She worked full time, but her priority was always her children, home cooked meals every day and a warm and loving home. At the end of a long day, you never heard her complain about being tired, just “Roti is ready, let’s eat”

She was a kind, caring and loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother. Her love was endless and her kindness had no limits. This unconditional love and kindness has helped shape the lives of her children and grandchildren, and left a mark on all those who knew her. In retirement years, she loved the simple beauties of life like gardening, exercising, relaxing on the porch on sunny days, spending time in the park with friends, and holding your hand as she talked to you.

Many described her as a “sweet soul”. This may be a result of her loving heart or simply her love of sweets. You were always guaranteed a bigger smile and a tighter hug, if you brought dessert—her favourites being cake, cookies, ladoos and Coffee Crisp.

She will be missed by her grandchildren, Jessie, Raju (Felicia), Jeetam, Neil, Rajin (Anastasia), Gagan, Ryan and Dylan. They will always remember her as their “Maaji”. Her children, Pappu, Bholly (Bubby), Jeeti (Bob), Satnam (Ewa). Her husband Joginder, sister Rashpal,  brothers Sukhdev (Manjit) and Baldev (Harjit). She is now reunited with loved ones that passed before her, her mother Kartar Kaur, father Uttam Singh, brothers Pal and Hardial, sister Dilip,  daughter-in-law Rani and grandson Brandon.

She will be forever remembered for her radiant smile, kind heart, sense of humour and the strong embrace of her hugs. We are forever grateful for the sacrifices she made to give her children and  grandchildren a better life.

Funeral Services will be held at the COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM, 11995 – 16 Street NE on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
