Mrs. Mohini Singhal passed away peacefully in Calgary on March 9, 2021 with family by her side. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Singhal-Patel and Meena Singhal, her son-in-law Shamir Patel, and grand-daughters Raina and Ria.
Mohini, affectionately known as Mona by her friends, and Nani Ma by her grand-daughters, was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. To her, family and their health, well-being, and happiness always came first. Her final weeks in hospital were immensely difficult, but she inspired us all with her grace, strength, courage, and unconditional love.
She held a B.A./B. Ed. and a Masters in Geology/Geophysics from Banaras Hindu University. She was an avid reader whether it was online, the daily newspaper or Reader’s Digest, one of her favourites. She spent hours cooking as it was both a hobby and a way to nurture family. Gardening was another passion and she took great pride in her blooming flowers she tended to during the short summer season. She had a love for travel which she shared with her dearest late husband, Dr. Raj Singhal.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, we will miss her compassion, curiosity, generosity, care, and loving presence. A Private Funeral Service will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 – 16 Street NE.

Dear Ruby and Meena, I am writing on behalf of Murthy family to express our condolences for your unbearable loss. It has been such a painful time for your family in the last few months. My heart goes out for you. Mohini was a loving, kind and gentle person and she will be missed both by family and friends. Raj and Mohini will always have a special place in my heart. Dear Meena and Ruby, please accept our deepest condolences. We are tremendously saddened by Mohini’s passing. We were truly blessed to be among their first friends when they moved to Canada 46 years ago and were very happy that we had kept up with our friendship ever since. Mohini and Raj will forever been in our hearts, our memories and our prayers.
We have met many times and I will forever miss you. I will never forget how you were always smiling, your kindness, your wit and how wonderful it was when you were visiting Meena. I do not like to speak in past tense, for you are still here, in both Meena’s and Ruby’s hearts and forever will be ??
