Steve Davidchuk passed away peacefully at Sage Hill Lodge at the age of 82 years on February 13, 2021 after several years of living with dementia and gradual decline of health in 2020. He will be remembered as a loving Dad to Stacey (Curtis) and Bob (Lucia), Granddad to Joel (Ashley), Katelyn, Ty, Cally, Carina, and Sofia and Great Granddad to Merritt and Renley. Steve is remembered fondly by his surviving family members and friends; he was kind, loving and had many special relationships throughout his lifetime. He had careers as a teacher, school principal, and later a realtor. Steve enjoyed spending time in the country, caring for animals (cows, horses, dogs), entertaining his grandchildren, playing golf and bridge, and sharing his quirky sense of humor with his favorite people.
An online memorial service will be held on Sun Feb 28 at 3 pm. For those who would like to attend, please email Stacey directly in order to receive a link to a Zoom meeting.

Steve was my high school Math teacher in the 70’s at Sundre. He was also my first principal at Didsbury High School when I started teaching. He was highly respected as a teacher and an administrator. My condolences to the whole family.– Marty
My condolences to the family Steve will be missed, whether golfing at the beach or building homes I always enjoyed being around Steve.
Steve was both our realtor and our next door neighbor for several years in Water Valley. He was a great help to us and a wonderful blessing. When we would come to Water Valley and have a campfire, Steve would soon show up to join us at the fire for visiting. We continued to visit Steve when he moved into various care facilities. We hold Steve deep in our hearts and in our memories.
I was sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Over the years I had lost contact with him, but I remember him very well from his years at Sundre High. While on the teaching staff with Steve I was always impressed with his high standards of professionalism he exhibited in performing his teaching and administrative duties. Whether as students, colleagues or friends he was much appreciated and many fond memories remain.
I went to school with Stacey ( same grade) and played hockey with Bob. Their dad was known to us as “Mr Davidchck” as our coach. He was a a teacher in Sundre and well remembered. Anyone that talks about the original high school and during those years always spoke highly of him. Years later I ran into him myself as a hockey coach , and there he was at the arena, coaching and mentoring and of course smiling and full of happiness. He will always stand out. Many memories. Stacey and Bob you had a great father…
