March 8, 2000 – Calgary, Alberta
June 29, 2025 – Wetaskiwin County, Alberta
It is with great sadness that the family of Wyatt Reginald Baird of Calgary, Alberta announce his passing on June 29, 2025 at the age of 25 years.
Wyatt Reginald Baird was born in Calgary, Alberta on March 8, 2000. Growing up, he was a boy of few words, but behind that reserved demeanour “Quiet Wyatt” was a mischievous, funny soul who wore his heart on his sleeve. Those he played with on his hockey and baseball teams knew Wyatt as a fiercely competitive, loyal teammate, and as a friend. Wyatt graduated from Notre Dame High School in Calgary and studied at SAIT for welding before becoming a rig hand with Precision Drilling, a job which allowed him to purchase a section of land with a home in the Sylvan Lake area, and his pride and joy Chevy truck in which he found contentment and satisfaction in having achieved on his own strengths. A devoted country/western fan, Wyatt enjoyed taking in rodeo events and concerts, but family was always first and foremost.
Wyatt Reginald Baird is survived by his mother, Angela Baird, and his father, Richard Baird; his sister Tori; and a host of others — grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins — he was proud to call family, and friends he treated like family.

We are so sorry to hear of Wyatt’s passing. We are thinking of you and sending our deepest condolences during this incredibly difficult time.
We met Wyatt and I remember him being a beautiful, polite & respectful young man. He was a very good friend to my nephew Matthew – who like everyone – is devasted by this tragic loss. May your family find peace and solace in the memories you all created together …. and with time, may your sorrow wane. With great Love & Respect – the Thubron Family
My deepest sympathies, our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Wyatt will be greatly missed.

I babysat Wyatt and Tori back in Calgary. Wyatt was always so sweet- quiet- smart and a wicked sense of humour for someone so young. I guess that’s why we got along so well…. We had a similar sense of humour…. Fast forward a few years back and he added me to Facebook. His mom reached out and asked of it was ok- and Wyatt wanted to know if I remembered him… How could I ever forget such a sweet kid 🩷. My heart aches and is broken for Angela and Tori and all who knew him and the luckiest ones to call him a friend.
I am so very sorry for Wyatt’s sudden passing. He was also so full of light and love. My heart goes out to your family in this hard time. He will always be remembered for his dedication and just for being a good guy. He will forever live on through all of the people he knew.
Words are difficult and hard to convey.

I am absolutely devastated to learn of Wyatt’s passing. We worked together when he was working in the Precision Drilling office over the winter. He was my favourite helper – so much that I specifically started requesting him. He was such a gentle soul – he will be greatly missed.
