Attended school in Beaver Dam, Alberta. After School Ted went on to work for the Alberta department of highways helping grade roads and drove a gravel truck.

Afterwards, he worked a logging job in Valemount, BC. Years later, Ted took a road construction job at Federal Joint Sealing, and moved to Calgary, AB. He continued to put the miles on driving tractor-trailer town to town running construction crews and sealing miles and miles of highway coast to coast. From BC to as far as Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Eventually, he would go on through hardwork and determination to take full ownership of the company in the late 1980s. Together, he would work with his son Boyd, and they would continue to build a long standing, successful company that is thriving today. During the early 90’s he partnered with his brother Edward as owner-operators of the East Coulee, Alberta, Hotel for a few years. All together he dedicated over 60 years of his life to running Federal Joint Sealing company, and at 85 years old you could still count on him to be there every day.

In 1972 he purchased his first home for the family in the community of Huntington hills. He volunteered to help build the Huntington Hills Community Centre. He helped organize bingos and did canvassing for donations to have the community centre built. He would help coach minor league hockey, volunteer at bingo hall, and support his grandchildren’s love for hockey. He could be found standing in hockey areas around the red line cheering them on.

Ted will always be remembered and respected for his work ethic and his witty sense of humour. He enjoyed baseball, laughs, card games, bingos, road trips, camping, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with the ones he loved most.
