It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pargan Singh Bhangal, who was born on April 30, 1936, in Bhangal Kalan, India, to Santa Singh and Karam Kaur, and passed away
peacefully on October 8, 2025, due to pneumonia.
In 1970, Pargan Singh immigrated to Prince George, Canada, where he became an active and valued member of the community. He began his career in construction before moving to
Edmonton, where he started his journey in transportation as a taxi driver. After several years, he settled in Calgary, which became his lifelong home.
Pargan Singh will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gian Kaur Bhangal, and their two sons Daljit Singh Bhangal and Baljit Singh Bhangal. He is also survived by his grandchildren Vikram
Singh Bhangal, Monika Kaur Dhaliwal, Barinder Singh Bhangal, and Loveleen Kaur Bhangal, as well as his great-grandchildren Yashvir Singh Dhaliwal, Sarina Kaur Dhaliwal, Gia Kaur
Bhangal, and Lia Kaur Bhangal.
He was predeceased by his siblings Darshan Singh Bhangal, Avtar Singh Bhangal, and Nasib Kaur Kandola.
Pargan Singh was known for being a kind, humble, and hardworking man who carried himself with unwavering positivity and faith. He enjoyed going to the gym every day, reading about Sikh
history, and participating in religious activities. Deeply devoted to his faith, he took great pride in doing paath every morning and evening. He also loved staying informed — watching the news
daily and reading the newspaper from cover to cover — often sharing updates and insights with family and friends. He was actively involved in helping build the local gurdwara and was always
eager to give back to the community.
He found joy in spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories from his early life, and offering words of wisdom rooted in gratitude and humility. His laughter, discipline, and spiritual strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
