Narbada “Nanda” Jagjiwan
June 3, 1958 – December 1, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nanda Jagjiwan. She died at home peacefully on December 1, 2025.
Born in Suva, Fiji, she was the youngest daughter to Mansukh and Savitri Lal. Nanda and her family made their way to Canada in the 1970’s. They first settled in Sparwood, BC, and eventually found their permanent home in Calgary, Ab.
After getting married to Jayant, Nanda worked in the hospitality industry for many years. While raising their children, Preetika and Upesh, she also helped Jayant with his video store. She was happiest when she was around family, especially when everyone was able to get together for birthday dinners and Diwali celebrations. When she was not in the kitchen, she would unwind by watching her favorite tv shows.
Nanda is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Jayant, daughter Preetika (Craig), son Upesh (Judy), four beautiful grandchildren Ryder, Arjay, Dominic and Grace, her two older sisters Tarla and Labh, niece Dina (Phil) and nephew Jason (Angela). Also, her special friend Carol from her Best Western days.
Nanda was predeceased by her parents Mansukh and Savitri Lal and brother in law Pravin.
Her gentle smile, soft spirit, and dedication to Jayant will forever be missed.
