It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and leader, who left us peacefully on Friday, December 5th, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 95.
She was born on February 21, 1930, in Fiji, where she grew up surrounded by family and culture. After the passing of her parents, she took on the tremendous responsibility of raising her siblings, guiding them with strength far beyond her years.
In 1977, she suffered the heartbreaking loss of her life partner. Despite this immense sorrow, she faced the world with resilience and unwavering love, raising her children on her own and giving them the best life possible through her sacrifices, dedication, and courage.
She moved to Canada in 1986, creating a new home while continuing to build a legacy rooted in compassion and hard work.
Throughout her life, she was the heart of our family—steadfast, nurturing, and endlessly giving.
As a devoted wife, she shared deep love and partnership. As a mother, she led with wisdom and tenderness. As a grandmother, she filled our lives with joy, traditions, and stories we will cherish forever. As a sister, she offered loyalty, support, and a bond that remained strong throughout her life.
As a leader, she inspired others through her grace, strength, and commitment. She was a proud founding member of the Fiji Women Association of Calgary, dedicating countless hours to building community, supporting families, and preserving Fijian culture for future generations.
Her legacy lives on in those who loved her: in the lessons she taught, the values she embodied, and the warmth she brought into every home she entered.
We will miss her deeply, but we take comfort in knowing she lives on in our memories and in the generations, she helped shape. Aum Shanti Aum.
