John Evan Williams
October 21, 1959 – March 24th, 2026
John was born in Calgary and was a retired Journeymen Scaffolder.
John’s true passion was found on the water. Fishing was where his spirit truly came alive. He was known as a “fish whisperer,” with an uncanny gift for knowing where the biggest fish could be found – especially halibut. His most treasured moments were spent fishing with his mother and stepfather off the rugged northern coastline of Vancouver Island, near Port Hardy, BC. There, surrounded by the majesty of the ocean and wilderness, John found his deepest joy and experienced the beauty and peace of life.
John also possessed a deep reverence for nature. He often found eagle feathers resting on the forest floor, shed during the eagles’ moulting season – a sign of his spiritual connection with the natural world. Reflecting: Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
John was predeceased by his beloved mother and stepfather, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
May John now be embraced by God’s loving-kindness, mercy, grace, and everlasting peace, for all eternity.

Rest in peace my friend, the world was not always kind to you. The many trips to Siebert were always different, and all were memorable.
Thank you Collin. It’s wonderful to remember such happy times with John.
