March 22, 1945 – August 8, 2026
The family and friends of Christopher James Hills are heartbroken to announce the passing of Chris on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the age of 81 after many brave battles with cancer.
The most important things in life to Chris were his love of family, friends, and music.
Chris was the beloved son of Arthur and Joan Hills; devoted husband to Susan; father to David and Denny; Dadad to Connor, Benjamin and Elias; and friend to many others.
Chris is survived by his wife, Susan; son, David (Gaby), grandsons, Connor, Benjamin, and Elias; favourite cousin, Carol Gatford Hills; sister-in-law, Helen (Dave); and his brother Nick. He is also survived by his extended family; Lloyd Munro, Dave Pedder, Jennifer Pedder (Ryan Dionne), Nick Pedder, and Jean Thompson. Without the help of the above people over the past few years, life would have not been the same. The help, well wishes, and many jokes and fun times made the last few years the best it could have been.
Chris is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Joan; brother, Steve; son, Denny; favourite aunt, Blanche Munro; and sister-in-law, Sheila Pedder.

My sincere confolences to sue and all the family. My prayers are with all of u at this time.
My big cuz Chris . The song “how do I live “ comes to mind.. I loved Chris so much as he was a total gentle man, kind and generous and loyal and loving.
When I had my second son, I named him after my big cuz and as my Chris has grown up to be a man, he has taken all of Chris’s lovely kind and gentle personality, he is generous and caring just like his namesake, when I was a young mum, I used to babysit for extra money.. and write to Chris and he was very concerned about me and asked if there was anything he could do to help me, could he help me with money.
When I was a child, I lived for a while ( with my parents) with Chris and Arthur and Joan and Chris’s two brothers and they were some of the happiest days of my life.
Chris was a brilliant guitarist and he and his friend Peter would practice at Chris’s home and every time I heard one of the Shadows records .. I would think of Chris and sometimes have a little cry!
However I mentioned this to Peter recently and Peter sent me a live recording from the sixties of Chris and Peter and the rest of Peter and the wolves so I could listen to their music once again.
Rest easy now Chris and sleep tight
Love you… Carol .. and Mike and Chris xx

I was fortunate to have worked with Chris during his career in software development. He was a mentor, a teacher, and a friend. Chris was highly regarded and deeply respected for his expertise, knowledge, and incredible work ethic. He was someone others could always learn from and rely on.
But beyond all of that, what always stood out most was how much he loved his family and how incredibly proud he was of them. That spoke volumes about the type of person Chris was—not just a talented professional, but a genuinely caring and remarkable human being.
Chris, you will be greatly missed, but your impact on those who had the privilege of knowing and working with you will not be forgotten.
Susan, my heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
