Khamla Souvannavong

Khamla Souvannavong, 62 years old, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on May 11, 2017 at Dulcina Hospice Calgary.

 

Khamla was born in Vientiane, Laos to Bong and Khanha Bounmy on June 4, 1954. She is the 4th child of seven children in her family. Khamla graduated from College in Vientiane. Her love of children and learning landed her a teaching position for a local school for 2 years before she immigrated to Canada in 1979. Khamla married Ngai Souvannavong on December 5, 1981. A couple of years later, they welcomed a baby girl to the world and named her Lisa. Two years after that, they welcomed a second child, Randy, before moving from Didsbury to Calgary.

Khamla spent the last 9 years working part time as a housekeeper in Airdrie at Bethany Care. She enjoyed the friendly staff and the happy, elderly patients at the center.

Khamla is predeceased by her parents, Bong and Khanha Bounmy, Kham Bounmy (brother), and Mouy Chanthavong (sister).

Khamla is survived by Ngai Souvannavong (husband), Lisa (daughter) and Wilson Liu, Randy Souvannavong (son), Nam Bounmy (brother), Souvanh Bounmy (sister), Soukanh Bounmy (brother), and Souban Bounmy (brother), Jaden Liu (grandson) and many nieces and nephews.
