It is with deep love and respect that we announce the passing of Ashok Kumar Singhal, 84, of Calgary, Alberta.
Born in India in 1941, as the eldest of five siblings, Ashok built a life defined by hard work, intellect, and devotion to family. A petroleum engineer by profession, he approached his work and his life with unwavering integrity, compassion, and pride.
Ashok passed peacefully at home, surrounded by love. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Nalini Singhal, their sons Ashutosh and Deven, their wives Muffy and Jen, and their treasured grandchildren Maya, Ashwin, Leo, and Milo. His legacy of strength, generosity, and service will live on in them.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 26 at Country Hills Crematorium, 11995 16 Street NE Calgary. The service will start at 10:30am. A light lunch of Chaat, Ashok’s favorite, will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada in memory of Ashok.
Forever in our hearts — a husband, father, grandfather, and man of honour.
Om Shanti.

Dear Nalini and family;
My deepest condolence for your loss. I am so pleased I was able to meet Ashok at your retirement party. I know you will miss him terribly and want to know that you are in our thoughts and hearts of all at the Global Health team.

I was so saddened to hear of Uncle’s passing. I will always remember his gracious, gentle and kind spirit. Some of my favourite memories of him are when, during times of lively company and social gatherings, he would come over to me and quietly ask me, “how are you doing? What is new in school? What did you learn? How did your competition go?”. He took such a genuine interest in people, and encouraged and cheered them on, quietly and persistently. I will miss him, and will always remember his warm light. A wonderful human being who cared about so many. Thinking of all of you, Auntie and family.
