In Loving Memory of Cecilia Kaura
1948 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecilia Kaura on January 3, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 77.

Cecilia was a woman of immense heart and dedication. For 45 years, she served the Calgary community through her work at Carewest, a testament to her lifelong commitment to caring for others. Outside of her professional life, Cecilia had a boundless spirit and a genuine zest for life. She found great joy in traveling the world, watching movies, and attending church. Above all, she lived for socializing with her friends and being surrounded by her family.

While Alzheimer’s challenged her memory in her later years, it never touched the deep love she held for her family. She faced her journey with a grace and courage that reminded us all to cherish every moment.

Cecilia is now reunited with her beloved husband, Surinder (d. 2013), and her dear son, Rajiv (d. 1998).

Her legacy of kindness lives on through her family:

Her eldest son, Sanjiv and his wife Khushi, and their children Eshaan and Anaiya.

Her daughter, Gita Kaura and husband Tyler, and their children Tristen, Griffyn (Ashley), Phoenix, Lucious, and Charlie.
