Gail Judith Watson
April 29, 1951 – January 31, 2026
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Gail Judith Watson, on January 31, 2026, at the age of 74, at Dulcina Hospice.
Gail was born on April 29, 1951, in Regina, Saskatchewan. From the very beginning, her life was defined by love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to family. She was raised in a large family and shared a lifelong bond with her six siblings. Gail was predeceased by her birth mother, Julia Markel; her father, Joseph Markel; and her mother, Beatrice Markel.
Gail got married in 1976 to Brad Watson, and together they built a life rooted in hard work, adventure, and family. They welcomed their first son, Jaret, in Calgary before moving to Vancouver Island, where they opened a hardware store. Their second son, Ryan, was born in Port Alberni, and the family later returned to Calgary, where they settled and welcomed their third child, Megan, completing their family.
Gail is survived by her devoted husband, Brad; her children Jaret (Katherine), Ryan (Christine), and Megan (Jim); and her cherished grandchildren Cole, Miles, Lexi, and Ella, who were the absolute joy of her life. She was a constant and loving presence in their lives, offering encouragement, warmth, and unconditional love, and creating countless treasured memories.
Family was Gail’s greatest treasure. She found her deepest happiness in simply being together—whether during special celebrations or quiet everyday moments. Her home was always a place of comfort, kindness, and welcome.
Gail will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kind heart, and the way she made everyone feel loved and valued. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, devotion, and family will live on in all who knew her.
