Ivan Tommy Chubey, born on December 8, 1946 passed away on March 5, 2026.

Ivan was a warm and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a wonderful provider and dedicated man. Ivan worked for The Canadian Pacific Railway raising his family in Winnipeg, Manitoba until 1988, when a company transfer brought him to Calgary, Alberta where he would forever call home. Ivan will always be remembered by friends, family and loved ones for his incredibly friendly and easy-going nature. He had a knack for making everyone feel welcome, and always provided a touch of well-placed humour to any conversation.

Ivan shared most of his years with the love of his life, Eileen until her passing in August. They enjoyed 57 years of happy marriage together. He deeply missed the everyday things they did, and the special times they spent together like dancing the night away at Confederation Park. He was a wonderful dancer, and an even better partner in life.

Ivan loved having a good time, sharing a great meal, and enjoyed special moments with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons when they would visit. His last day was spent exactly where he wanted it to be, at home with his son, enjoying the sunshine and view from the deck which he thoroughly enjoyed.
