June 27th, 1979 – February 2nd, 2026

Joanne Pasicaran Bacani, a strong, kind, and loving mother of five, passed away on February 2, 2026 at the age of 46 years old.

Joanne was born on June 27, 1979 in Bogo, Philippines. She’s the eldest of two children of Pedrito and Ida Elumir.

Joanne and her family immigrated from the Philippines to Calgary, Alberta on April 22, 1993. Calgary has since then been their home.

Joanne enjoyed shopping with her mother Ida, trying new foods, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed singing and had a beautiful voice.

Joanne, beloved wife of Robert Bacani, met in high school, and were married for 25 years. Joanne is the mother of five children: Dylan, Ethan, Yesha, Meeka, and Nea Bacani, who were her joy and happiness.

Joanne always put others before herself and she always made people feel welcome and loved. She was a reliable, & a selfless person.

She was always there to catch us when we were about to fall.

She was loving, kind, and strong,

The melody and rhythm of our family,

That kept us together in harmony.

We’ll never forget the sparkle in your eyes,
