With heavy hearts the family mourns the passing of Mrs. Balwant Kaur KHAIRA, who passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Peter Lougheed Centre. She was born on March 18, 1923 in Punjab, India and immigrated to Canada in 1978. She called Calgary home ever since. “Bibi” will be remembered for living a life of fulfillment, a commitment to her Sikh faith and her large family. She inspired those around her to laugh and live life with compassion for others. She is survived by her eight children; twenty eight grandchildren; as well as forty three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Khaira was predeceased by her late husband, Gurnam Singh Khaira and her youngest child Sh. Balbir Singh Khaira.
