Surjit Anand, 75, of Calgary Alberta, left us peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Aug 14th, 2019; a short nine months after the passing of her husband Romesh.

Surjit was born in Lucknow, India on June 3rd, 1944. She emigrated to England in 1965, and then to Canada in 1969 with her two sons.

Surjit was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a teacher and successful entrepreneur. She believed in family, hard work and had great strength of character.

Surjit will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Rakesh (Samantha) and Suresh “Tony” (Raju); her grandchildren, Kyle, Matthew, Tarun, Megan, Kieran; her great-grandchildren Xaidan, Chander, Iyla; as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Surjit was predeceased by her husband Romesh and her beloved grandson Geet.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 at 10:00 am at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 16th Street NE.

Bhog & Antim Ardas (Final Prayer) will follow at Sikh Society of Calgary Gurudwara, 739-81st Street SW.
