We are sad to announce the passing of Randy Low-On (July 2, 1959) on May 25, 2025. His funeral and subsequent cremation was held on June 21, 2025. Throughout his life, Randy played a silent yet extremely supportive, solid role, and touched the lives of many. Through thick or thin, the important or benign, one could always count on Randy to give it his all and follow through.
As a son, brother, uncle, family, and friend, he will be missed by numerous individuals. Randy is survived by his parents George and Mae Low-On, as well as his siblings Carey (Sue), Raymond (Laureen), Jason, Denny (Kayla), Stephanie, Boni (Ethan), Andrew (Michelle), and Bonita (Chris) in addition to numerous nephews, nieces, and other family members.
Randy will be remembered for his intelligence, easy smile, and happy go lucky sense of humor as well as outlook on life. He was happy to share his knowledge and/or utilize his skills to assist whenever he was able. Randy derived much happiness from bringing out the joy in others without expectation. Until the end, Randy was the epitome of being empathetic to the needs of others while asking for nothing for himself.
Randy loved anything technological, especially anything computer related. The kid in him enjoyed games in various formats which lead to him amassing different collections that he was so very proud of. From the video/board/card games, anime pins, coins, movies, music, Randy appreciated many things during his lifetime.
Randy’s biggest love was the Calgary Stampede. The festivities meant another year to celebrate his birthday and the opportunity to gather with family, friends, and the community in a high energy, exciting environment that captivated the senses. Randy loved the Calgary Stampede since he was a child, with his final wish being that he would be alive long enough to take it all in one last time with a rip roaring “Yahoo!” or “Yeehaw!” Randy’s ultimate wish was to enjoy a fresh corndog with all the fixings and wash it down with a long drink of cold, refreshing root beer.
When the annual Calgary Stampede comes rolling in, be sure to send a small thought to Randy. Better yet enjoy that corndog with root beer for the ultimate tribute. Randy would have immensely appreciated the gesture.
The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to the dedicated and diligent healthcare team on Unit 37 at the Foothills Medical Centre. Another commendation goes to the staff at Dulcina Hospice Care for their compassion and devotion in serving their clients and associated loved ones.
