It is with deep sadness that we announce that Sunita Devi Ahir passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 55 years, cradled by the love of her family.
Sunita was born in Jalandhar, India and was the daughter of Sagli Ram and Gian Sheemar. She grew up with a deep love for family and education, which led her to earn
a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She created a lasting impression to countless people for her warmth, wit and unwavering belief in their potential.
In 1991, Sunita married Ramesh Kumar Ahir, and they moved to Canada in 1997.
During their time together, they raised their two children, Sahil Ahir and Mohit Ahir, whom she cherished deeply. She found joy in cooking, decorating and styling her home
and raising her children. Her home was always open to others, and her kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday October 18, at 1:00 pm at Country Hills Crematorium and Funeral Services in Calgary, Alberta. Though her voice has quieted,
the echoes of her love remain woven into the lives she touched, the home she tended with such care, and the strength of perseverance that deeply inspired those close to her.
All of which will never be forgotten.
