Mrs. Doreen Stelter

It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen Stelter announces her passing on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023 – just 18 days shy of her 94th birthday. Doreen was predeceased by her sisters Betty, Nina, and brother Jim; husband Otto (1978), daughters Diane (1983), Bev (2011), Grace (infancy), son in-law Gord (2022), and Danny’s partner Dee (2023).

She will be remembered by her son Larry (Mona), son-in-law Danny Feicht, sister-in-law Holly Miron as well as her nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Doreen and Otto farmed, raised their children, and made many friends in the Kelstern/Hodgeville, Sask area over the years. In 1980 Doreen moved to Airdrie, Alberta and started working at Eagle Security while also cleaning commercial offices until she retired. When not working Doreen enjoyed working in her large garden, sewing, crocheting, baking, and cooking her delicious garden meals for company. Doreen always made ample time for family and the many close friends she made through the years. She was seen as a grandma to so many more than just her family and will be dearly missed. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Dulcina Hospice in Calgary for their loving care and kindness towards Doreen for the last seven months. Your patience and attention to her needs greatly assisted in her transition and gave comfort to all the family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on April 30th, 2023; at the Country Hills Crematorium & Funeral Services located at 11995 16 Street NE, Calgary, AB T3K 0S9.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
