TURNER – Alan John
April 12, 1939 – August 3, 2019
Alan John Turner, born in Devon, England, passed away on August 3, 2019 at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his wife June Rosalind Turner on April 1, 2018 after her fight with dementia. Alan is survived by his daughter Tracy (Troy); grandson Mark (Laura); great grandson Charlie and great granddaughter Blake. Alan brought his family to Canada in 1975 to work on a dairy farm in BC and six months later he moved to Alberta, by Okotoks, where he worked with the beef cattle on a ranch for the Groeneveld’s. Alan introduced the Jack Russell Terriers to Alberta. He brought a couple of dogs over from England and started breeding them. He and his wife June did a lot of traveling and spent numerous winters in Arizona. Upon his retirement Alan built a house in Lake Chaparral where he was well known for his garden of flowers and fresh vegetables which he always offered to whoever stopped by.
