Campbell, Alric (Teddy)
April 18, 1942 – March 9, 2021
After a long battle against the effects of his illness Teddy started his heavenly journey in the presence of his family on March 9, 2021.
Teddy was born in the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica and proud to be a Belfield boy. While in Jamaica Teddy served in the Jamaican army for several years. He also was a successful beverage salesman on the island. During this time Teddy’s son Peter was born.
Teddy arrived in Canada in 1970. Teddy and his brothers established themselves as a social force in the Jamaican community. Many people will remember attending parties with him. Frequently he could be found playing music or video recording at such events. He will also be remembered for being a friendly bus driver with long term service for Calgary Transit. Just as Teddy started at transit his daughter Tamara was born.
Teddy is survived by his brothers Ray, Godfrey, and Ken (Paulette). He is also survived by daughter Tamara (Kevin) and beloved grandson Nehemiah Foster. Teddy was also uncle to Yvonne, Maurice, Althea, Delia, Ritchie, Tracy, Trecia (Michael), Nadine (Gabriel), Jermaine (Elaine) and a host of great nieces and nephews.
The family wish to thank the palliative care team and the staff at Agape Hospice for their care. At Teddy’s request a private funeral will be held.
