After a brief illness Art Emile Thibert passed away peacefully on July 1 2026 at the age of 92 years old in Calgary.

Art was born on May 10, 1934, to Israel and Cleophie in Cayer Manitoba.

Art is survived by his children Gaby and husband Lindsay Dyck, Brenda and Marina, from Winnipeg. Gerald and wife Joanne from Port Alberni, Garth and partner Adriana from Calgary. Emile from Vancouver.

Art married Margaret and helped raise her daughters Tammy, Mitzi and son David. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Joe, Louis, Henry, Phillip, Leon, Gerry, Edward, Daniel, and sister Olivine, wife Margaret, son Terry, daughter Denise, son in law Harold Dyck and stepdaughter Kimberly.

Through the years Art did all different jobs including the finishing of the Calgary tower. He was also an active member of the Metis Nation of Alberta in the mid-70s. He was an avid hunter and always tested fish and wildlife (lol). Art and Margaret were foster parents for many years.
