It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Balwant Singh Bains on September 18, 2024. Balwant was born in 1950 in Mahilpur, Punjab; he was so proud of his village and continued to visit and support his birthplace throughout his life. Balwant immigrated to Canada in 1972; he was a proud Canadian Sikh who embraced his new home and established roots in Alberta and British Columbia. Balwant was known for his calm demeanor, quick wit and health-conscious habits. He always supported his children in all of their endeavors; he often shared his wisdom and knowledge gained through his own life experiences. Balwant is survived by his brother and sister (Gurmez Singh Bains and Balwinder Sandhu), wife (Darshan Bains), sons (Raju and Gurneesh Bains) and daughters (Raman and Aman Bains). We will miss you terribly, Dad….may you rest in peace and your soul soar.
