Barbara Golebiowski, beloved wife of Andrzej, passed away unexpectedly at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the age of 64 years. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and numerous friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES CHAPEL, 11995 16 Street NE on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 am, with the Reverend Adam Bobola, SChr. of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Presider.
Due to the city by-law all those attending in person must provide personal identification as well as either proof of double vaccination, or proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of service, or documentation of a medical exemption. Masks are also mandatory.

On Sunday, November 7, 2021, Barbara Gołębiowska, a former Ottawian, known in the Ottawa Polish community, passed away unexpectedly. The deceased was accompanied in the last moments of her life by husband Andrzej and son Artur.
Barbara Gołębiowska was born on March 7, 1957 in Sosnowiec. Daughter of Stefan and Janina. Father Stefan Dudała (1921 – 2004), mother Janina Dudała née Twardowska (1930 – 1981). Husband Andrzej, daughter King and son Artur.
Graduate of the 4th Secondary School of General Education Stanisław Staszic in Sosnowiec, secondary school-leaving examination in 1976. She graduated from the University of Physical Education in Katowice (1980).

1989 – Outremont High Tech Center, Computer Aided Design Drafting
1998 – CompuSkills, Database Design and Visual Basic Programming

Barbara Gołębiowska has been active over the last several decades in a number of social organizations, including: in 1990-2003 she was a member of the Polish School Parent Board, in the Federation of Polish Women in Canada (1995-2011), in 2001-2011 she was a member of the Foundation’s Management Board Polish Heritage in Ottawa. Awarded by the Ontaryjskie Ministry of Citizenship with a diploma for dedicated, many years of social work.
She devoted a lot of attention to the elderly and the sick in her social work. In 2013-2017, she worked as a volunteer at the Seniors on the Bow Center in Cochrane, and in 2013-2017 at the Kerby Center in Calgary. From 2016. she was a member of the Association of Polish Combatants (SPK) in Canada, where she dealt with, inter alia, visiting sick, inactive members at their homes or in nursing homes (2017 – 2018). As a volunteer, she participated in the 3-day celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence in November 2018. Member of the Youth with Spirit (Polish seniors circle since 2019). Member of the board of the White Eagles football club in Calgary (since 2016).
Her main interest is observing the beauty of nature with a camera during long walks, especially during hiking in the Rocky Mountains. From January 1, 2006. co-editor of sosnowiecfakty.pl From May 22, 2015. became the owner of the sosnowiecfakty.pl website
She was interested in the culture of the Far East and India. She was a fourth-grade Qigong instructor. From June 16, 2016, she ran the Angels flowers and Qi Gong page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/basiaqigong/).
