With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our Ba at 78. He was beloved by his family, friends and the Cambodian Buddhist community.
Cham Ngam was born on November 1 in Krong Battambang, Cambodia. He was a Cambodian refugee in Thailand in 1978 and arrived in Calgary, Canada in 1983 with his wife and children.
Cham worked many jobs, including as a steel worker, window manufacturer, at a golf course and delivering newspapers with his children in the early morning hours. Most weeks he would be found swimming, at Watt and enjoying time with his family.
He was extremely active in the Khmer-Canadian Buddhist Cultural Society. Was respected by his peers and everyone involved.
Cham Ngam precedes his wife Thouk and two children. Is survived by his partner (Soy), six children (At, Chantha, Chantouen, Chanthy, Retell and Willy), 12 grandchildren (Micheal, Justin, Angela, Kayla, Mia, Seth, Logan, Mehki, Malaya, Ella, Nova and Charlotte) and 1 great- grandson on the way (Levi).
