I remember you came to my birthday 3 months ago, you were the first one to show up.. you came even though you didn’t know anybody there because we were all 6 years older than you. Yet, you still made an effort to talk to everybody and make friends with them. You always have been a sweet girl, going out of your way to be a great friend. So I want to take this opportunity to thank you. I can’t even imagine the type of pain you were going through and how lonely you must have felt. Rest In Peace, you will always be loved and remembered as a beautiful soul… miss you already.
I remember Daman Grewal as the sweetest, most kind-hearted angel back when we were in school. Although her time on earth was short, every moment was a blessing. May she find peace in the universe beyond us knowing that she is loved deeply by all of her friends and family.
Away
I cannot say and I will not say
That she is dead, she is just away.
With a cheery smile and a wave of hand
She has wandered into an unknown land;
And left us dreaming how very fair
Its needs must be, since she lingers there.
And you-oh you, who the wildest yearn
From the old-time step and the glad return-
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the love of there, as the love of here
Think of her still the same way, I say;
She is not dead, she is just away.
Daman was an angel! Diligent, hard-working, caring, and loving with a smile that lit up a room and a laugh that was sincere. She was quiet but present. She defined true beauty in heart, soul, mind, and body. She idolized Audrey Hepburn – we both loved her – and she wrote about her in class and this Hepburn quote that she wrote about beautifully captures Daman: “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge you are never alone” – Audrey Hepburn. I am grateful for the small bit of time I was blessed to have with her in my class. May she find peace.
A gentle soul. It was my honour to have worked with her. May you find peace in the days that lie ahead.
Can’t believe it’s almost been 3 years since you’ve been gone…I miss you everyday ? Haskayne had their convocation ceremony and all I could think about is how I wish I had you by my side so we could celebrate together. I will always cherish the years we had together in FFCA and UofC, I love you and miss you and hope you’re at peace ??
Miss you so much and wish you were here 🙁
