David Bruce Hoddinott
May 12, 1982 – May 8, 202
Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Calgary, Alberta on May 8, 2020 at age 37.
David was born in Gander, NL on May 12, 1982. He graduated from Gander Collegiate, Class of 2000. He excelled at school sports, especially basketball, a game that he loved. After high school David completed a commercial diving program in Ontario and worked as a commercial diver for a period of time. He later completed a roughneck course in Seal Cove, NL. This led him to a career in the oil fields of Alberta working as a driller on various rigs. Travel was a passion for him and it led him to many countries around the world.
Left to mourn with fond and happy memories are his wife Alison, father Bruce (Michele), mother Cathy (Gerald) Reid, sister Krysta (Chad) Garland, grandmother Mary Bursey. David also leaves behind a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and friends.

David was also my nephew and I loved him dearly. It was such a shock and to be honest, it just hasn’t sunk in just yet.
I have so many memories of him, I watched him grow up and spent so much time with him.
Again, I am just so very sorry and thinking about you.
