David John Richardson passed away on Thursday June 18, 2020 at the age of 76 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marylyn of 56 years; sons Cameron (Kathy) and Glen (Deborah) and his grandchildren David, Mark, Matthew, Samantha and Katherine and his brother Bob (Laurie) Richardson as well as many more family and friends.
Dave was born in Dilston, England. He moved to Calgary when he was 2 years old. He worked in Calgary until he retired in 1997. When he retired, Dave fulfilled his dream by moving to BC, living for several years in Windermere and then Parksville. Dave later returned to Calgary to be closer to his family.
Dave enjoyed traveling, and spending time with relatives and friends. As a classic car enthusiast, he enjoyed showing his Hot Rod at local car shows. His detailed memory of his family history and the people he met throughout his life was remarkable.
The family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses at the Foothills Hospital for the care of David over the last several years and we are profoundly grateful for the Cardiac Function Clinic at the Foothills Hospital and their extraordinary dedication and loving care.
As per Dave’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca/donate).
