Joseph Roger Andrew David Theoret
December 28, 1958 – May 17, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of David Theoret of Nanton, Alberta, who died peacefully on May 17, 2025, at Foothills Hospital in Calgary surrounded by his loved ones.

David was born on December 28, 1958, in Alexandria, Ontario, and was the beloved youngest son of the late Gisele (nee Poirier) Theoret and John Paul Theoret.

David is lovingly remembered by his children: Jessica Theoret, Joseph Theoret (Sara), Anna Theoret (Brandon), and Jenaday Theoret. He was also a proud father to his adopted son, Nick Emoff (Anne), and a devoted grandfather to his ten adopted grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.

He shared his life with his cherished spouse, Jackie Schnerch, and was a loving support to her children: Brittany, Emily (Braiden), Kayla (Dyllan), Dylan, and Arianna.

David was a dear brother to Claude Theoret (Sandy), Robert Theoret, Bernie Theoret (Alona), Hellen Nadeau (late Renald and late Ron), Dianne Hearns (Rick), Jacqueline Theoret (Michael), and Sherry Meidlinger (Paul). David was predeceased by his oldest brother Claude Theoret. He was also a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Affectionately known as “Doc”, David had an incredible talent for fixing almost anything. He found joy in the simple things—family vacations, camping, playing cards, and karaoke. Above all, he cherished time with his family. His warmth, humour, and generous spirit made every gathering meaningful and memorable.

David’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
