Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Eugene. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that he was a great colleague and friend, and he will be sorely missed.
Working with Eugene for over a decade on large and challenging engineering design projects has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my career and I will miss his friendship and his outstanding contributions on those projects. I have fond memories of sitting with Eugene as we worked together to develop solutions to the many technical challenges that we faced. I will miss also, his remarkable work ethic and his commitment to always producing a quality design for each project. I consider myself fortunate to have known him. May all our memories of Eugene be a source of gratitude. Every good wish to you, Stella, and strength during this difficult time.
Eugene was a very pleasant guy. I often said to my friend and his son, Borys, that he had a great dad. Eugene shared his technological interest with his son and Borys picked it up from him, I am sure. As his son’s peer, he respected me in spite of our age difference, economic status at the time or other factors. Eugene was patient and often gauged his responses not to offend. He liked to talk about how not to worry about things too much in an effort to change people’s lives for the better. His advice will resonate with some after his death, if they only choose to listen to it.
My Parents, Henrietta and Andrew FICEK, send their condolences to Stella, his wife and Borys. Eugene will be missed.
