It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the death of Gian Kaur Lidder on June 4th, at the age of 77. Gian passed away peacefully surrounded by family. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; her memory will forever live on in our hearts.

Gian Kaur was born in Katana, Punjab, on September 15, 1947, to Sama Kaur and Thaman Singh Mann- the eldest daughter of six siblings. After marriage, she moved to Mirpur Lakha, where she raised her three children with her late husband, Mohan Singh Lidder. Gian was an avid traveler, traveling to the United Kingdom at least six times to visit her family. In 2004, she immigrated to Canada and lived a rich life, one filled with joy and laughter with her family by her side.

Gian Kaur was predeceased by her two eldest brothers, Swaran Singh Mann and Satnam Singh Mann. She is survived by her brothers Bakhshish Singh Mann and Avtar Singh Mann and sisters Avtar Kaur and Jaswinder Kaur. Gian is also survived by her three children, daughters Surinder and Harjit Kaur and son Baljit Singh, as well as many beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Gian Kaur was a pillar of strength and love for our family. She will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, and joyfulness. She greeted everyone who came to visit with a big hug and made sure they left our house laughing. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she was truly the cornerstone of our family. May her legacy live on, and may her wisdom guide us through both easy and difficult times. Our family finds comfort in knowing she passed quickly and is now at peace. Thank you for all your love and support. She would have been happy to see everyone together again.
