In Loving Memory of Gian Singh Chatha
February 14, 1946 – July 26, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Gian Singh Chatha, who passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 80.
He was born on February 14, 1946, in the small village of Nurpur Chatha, Punjab, India. From a young age, he learned the value of hard work, honesty, and perseverance. As a lifelong farmer before moving to Canada, he dedicated himself to his land and family, living a life built on integrity, humility, and determination.
He was a man of extraordinary strength and unwavering will. After being diagnosed with a brain tumour, he was given only one year to live. Refusing to let that define him, he courageously fought the disease and lived for another 18 years a very happy and healthy life , becoming an inspiration to everyone who knew him. His resilience, faith, and positive spirit were a testament to his remarkable character.
Above all, He was a devoted husband to our beloved mother , Jasvir Kaur Chatha. Together they built a loving home, while raising their children with strong values, unconditional love, and endless support. He worked tirelessly to ensure his family had every opportunity for a better life and always put the needs of his loved ones before his own.
He was a proud and loving father to Baljit, Jaspal, Manjit, Jagdip, and Varinder, and a cherished grandfather to Jugraj, Amraj, Sarbkali, Sajan, Arveer, Ranvir, Sher, Ravnoor, Jazleen, and Pavanbir. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
His love extended beyond his immediate family. He always cared deeply for his brothers and sister, often placing their needs before his own. His generosity, compassion, and willingness to help others earned him the love and respect of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, unwavering determination, deep compassion, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his family, the lives he touched, and the countless memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
Although we mourn his passing, we are grateful for the incredible life he lived and the love he shared so freely. His courage, kindness, and selfless spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
May Waheguru bless his soul with eternal peace and grant strength and comfort to all who mourn his loss.
“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the values they taught us, the memories they gave us, and the love they leave behind.”
