Gladys was born in Calder, Saskatchewan to her parents George, and Mary. Gladys was the fourth born out of eight children. She loved singing and was accomplished at playing the organ and guitar. She worked at various places throughout her life, Bamboo Inn, Neonex, United Mobile Homes and finally retired after 29 years at Canada Post as a sorter.

Gladys was a prize bowler with the North hill bowling league while she was working at Neonex. She loved cooking and baking and was a master at cooking Chinese and Italian cuisine. They travelled to Reno, Las Vegas, Sault Lake City and spent their 50th anniversary in Kalispell, Montana. She enjoyed playing Kinsmen TV Bingo back in the day.
