Gurdev Singh Sran
October 5, 1962 – October 29, 2020
Beloved father, husband, son, brother, and friend, Gurdev Singh Sran, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2020 at the age of 58 years. Not a moment passes without him in our thoughts.
Gurdev, better known as Bhinda, was born on October 5, 1962 in the village of Sanher, District Zira to parents Mukhtiar Singh and Tej Kaur Sran. Bhinda married his beautiful wife Paramjit in 1992. They had four wonderful children – Prabhdeep, Ravneet, Virpal, and Arshvir. The family spent their years in Calgary surrounded by a large loving family.
From a young age Bhinda had a love of gardening that followed him to Canada. He would spend hours tending to his personal garden full of vegetables. He was always eager to share the fruits of his efforts with family and friends. Bhinda was known within the family for his handyman abilities, always just a phone call away and willing to fix or build anything.
Bhinda had a love of food and cooking, his favourite being pizza. He would always find a way to sneak a few extra slices. His children would say his dishes gave their mom a run for her money.
We will never forget Bhinda’s big heart and infectious spirit. Bhinda gave selflessly to those in need, even when the give was beyond his own means. He lived by the words “dance like no one is watching”. Family and friends will remember Bhinda as a carefree spirit with a quiet, loving demeanour.
Funeral Services will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 – 16 Street NE on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
Due to restrictions for mass gatherings, attendance will be limited to 85 people at a time. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own rumals. Masks are mandatory as per the City of Calgary Bylaw.
