Jagir Singh Grewal of Daad, Ludhiana, beloved husband of Gurdial Kaur Grewal, passed away at his home peacefully on April 24, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Funeral Services will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 – 16 Street NE.

Besides his loving wife, Gurdial Kaur Grewal, Jagir Singh Grewal is survived by his three daughters, Rupinder, Simarjit, and Amandip; sons-in-law Manmohanjit, Pardeep, and Parminder; grandchildren: Gagan, Manreet, Harman, Balnoor, Birtej, Jaisumer, and Sukhman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Papaji’s predecessors were S. Sucha Singh and Santi Kaur.

Papaji was born in Daad. He was educated in his maternal village (pind) Chahlan, where he loved and was loved by his Mamaji and Mamiji and their three daughters, from whom he received his core values. He completed his education and received a Bachelor of Arts from A.S. College, Khana.Papaji first worked as a corporate inspector and then went on to become a corporate bank manager, all while being an ardent farmer. He then moved to Canada in 1996 to join his family.

A majority of Papaji’s time was focused around his wife and children. He dedicated his life towards the upbringing of his three daughters and seven grandchildren, providing unwavering support and loving them unconditionally. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, and he enjoyed watching the news. He won countless awards in wrestling, exemplifying his strong and resilient personality. He set an example of a person who lives his life with a strong will power, and he encouraged his kin to adopt this value into their own lives.

Papaji will be deeply missed by all friends and family. His memories will continue to inspire us as we move forward in our lives.
