The family of James “Jim” Donald Wallace regret to announce his passing on June 5, 2025, at the age of 77.
Jim was born in Almonte, ON. He worked his way across Canada to settle in Calgary while he was still in his teens. Over time, he happily reconnected with his remaining family in Ontario.
For decades he worked with heavy equipment, building roads and new subdivisions. Driving through Calgary would almost always result in him pointing at a road or neighborhood and proudly announcing; “I was there when that was built” or “I helped put that in” …
Jim was an outgoing and sociable man who could make friends with just about anyone. For Jim, his greatest joy was sitting at the dinner table with his family or meeting friends to have a “wobbly pop”.
He will be remembered by his ex-wife and lifelong friend Doris, his son Chris, daughter Shannon, son-in-law Alan and two grandsons Ty and Ethan. He was predeceased by his sister Valerie and survived by his sisters Betty and Fern, brother Teddy, along with several half-siblings. His quirky sense of humor and generosity will be remembered and missed by his family members both close and extended, along with the many friends he made over the years.
