Jaswant Kaur Sidhu passed away on March 21, 2022 at the age of 82 years, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at home.

Jaswant Kaur Sidhu, lovingly known to the family as “Bibi” was born on Nov 15, 1939 in the village of Bibiwala, District Bathinda, Punjab to Ajit Singh and Harnam Kaur. She was the second of five children: Surjit Kaur, Baldev Kaur, Ujjager Singh and Jasvir Singh.

She moved to the village of Kuti, District Bathinda, Punjab after her marriage to Sukhdev Singh Sidhu (Papa Ji). Here, they raised their three children: Sukhwinder Kaur (Sukhdeep Singh), Harinder Singh (Avninder Kaur), and Parminder Kaur (Gurjant Singh). The family immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1989 from where she had the opportunity to see her family grow as she raised her seven grandchildren over the next 33 years. Together, Bibi and Papa Ji lived a wonderfully fulfilling life with all their labours coming to fruition as they watched their family thrive.

Bibi will be remembered by her loved ones as a kind and generous soul, and loving mother to all. Throughout her life, she embodied selfless service and devotion to her family and has always been a pillar of strength to all. She instilled the Punjabi culture, language and values to all her children, grandchildren and the greater family throughout her life. Bibi will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral Ceremonies will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 16 Street NE on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 3:00 pm.
