Jit Kaur Dhillon

November 12th, 1932 – November 16th, 2020

Only six weeks after the passing of her husband, Karam Singh Dhillon, our dear Mother, Bibiji and Naniji, Jit Kaur Dhillon, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, at her home on November 16th, 2020.

Jit Kaur was born on November 12th, 1932, to Dhan Kaur and Raja Singh Phangoora, in the village of Dheha, Ram Nagar, District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. She was the eldest of five siblings and naturally assumed a protective role in her family.

Jit Kaur married Sardar Karam Singh Dhillon on June 21st, 1947 and were inseparable for 73 fulfilling years. Together they focused on raising their daughter, Arvinder, and two sons, Kulwinder and Jasvir, instilling core values of love and servitude. Jit Kaur dedicated her life to the unity and wellbeing of all those she took under her wings, which spanned families and friendships from all over the world.

In June of 1985, Jit Kaur immigrated to Canada with her husband, where she played a prominent role in raising and nurturing her 8 grandchildren. Later in life, she would regularly bestow her 11 great-grandchildren with nicknames and heartfelt blessings, which we will all cherish, for the rest of our lives.

Jit Kaur was affectionately known for her regular pulse checks on the vitality of her family and friends. But it is the concern she had for everyone, that made her the very heart that connected us all. We will never forget the depth of her love and the breadth of her influence.

Funeral Services will be held at the COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES located at 11995 – 16 Street NE on Saturday, November 21st, 2020 at 1:00 pm. Cremation to follow.
