Joan went to Heaven on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the age of 82 years, joining both her parents, Manoel and Philomena (Bella) Pinheiro nee Nunes.  A short Memorial Service will be held at Country Hills Crematorium, 11995 – 16 Street NE, Calgary with Fr. Pilmaiken Lezano (Fr. Pil) of Ascencion Catholic Parish officiating.  Hymns and musical selections will be done by Jon da Silva-Spence – Voice, Harp and Guitar and Grai Pashak – Percussionist of AlmaLuAlma Music.  There will be a reception immediately following the service.  Joan will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her sisters, Vormauer Gomes and Myrna Lawrence; her brother, Hilary (Yvonne) Pinheiro; her nieces and nephews, Donna Hawthorne, Keith, Donald and Peter Lawrence, Genny Gomes-Farrugia, Mark Gomes and Ann Snider; as well as her nine great-nieces and great-nephews and Miles Grant, her great-great-nephew.  Also by cousins and dear friends from Bookers Universal, Georgetown, Guyana where she worked for 35+ years.
