Words cannot convey the emptiness that Sam’s death has left in me. I will miss the chance encounters he and I had, in the most unexpected places when least expected, here in Calgary. Restaurants and malls will never be the same as I will continue to look for him, laughing and happy with family and friends! My heart goes out to his family and my thoughts are with you! Sam was loved by us all…keep smiling Sam…we will see you again!

Sam growing up you were such a funny and loving presence. I am sad that I will never get to see your beautiful smile, hear your contagious giggle, or braid your long hair. Rest In Peace until we meet again.

Kummi in elementary school and later Sam, you were my family, like the brother I never had, my friend, coconspirator in crime and everything else I needed you to be. My heart is broken. You will always be remembered. Rest In Peace Karmvir❤️💔❤️

Although you were my nephew in relation you were always more like a big brother (and protector). Your constant smile and contagious laughter are one of my fondest childhood memories. You have been taken from us far too soon but you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again RIP

Sorry for a late post. A lot of his co-workers just found out yesterday at the Union meeting as to, “why he wasn’t around”. Sam Basi was a great guy. He always tried his best. Deep down a really good stand-up kind of guy. He will be solely missed by all that he knew him in good times and bad.
