It is with great sadness that the family of Kery Nicole Long of Calgary, Alberta announces her passing on 20 February 2024 at the age of 45 years after a very brave battle with brain cancer.
Kery Nicole Long was born in Calgary on 15 October 1978.
Kery worked at Pro Hockey Life from October 2022 until she had to stop working in August 2023. Kery was also trained in Technical Writing and Technical Support prior to this and had numerous roles over the years, learning many skills and being a technical guru to many.
Kery was a proud member of the ARC Angels Ringette Team and was their goalie, Kery loved nothing more than being in net and supporting her teammates. Over the years, Kery enjoyed watching and playing many sports, including Hockey, Ringette, Soccer, Basketball, BMX racing, Running, Volleyball, Softball, to name but a few.
Kery’s other passions included Crocheting and Knitting, building Lego, telling jokes and enjoying life to the fullest. Kery as a young woman was also part of Job’s Daughter’s (Jobie) which she thoroughly enjoyed and made many lifelong friendships. Kery was heavily involved in the Strathmore Gay Rodeo in prior years, volunteering in many roles but more noticeably as the Assistant Rodeo Director. Kery was very social and could be counted on for her unwavering support and friendship.
Survived by: Kery Long is survived by Dawn Denningberg, common law partner and lifelong soulmate. Kery Long is also survived by her mother Beth Long and father Gary Long of Calgary; and brother, Scott Long and family of Calgary; as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Lovely lovely Kery, no one has a smile like yours. Always there.. I think of you every day. You gave my daughter Dawn such happiness over the years and I enjoyed our brief but wonderful times together. God bless you Kery.xxx
