Funeral services for Krishena Sood, 91, a resident of Calgary will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8th, 2018 at Country Hills Crematorium, 11995 – 16th NE, Calgary, AB. There will be a Memorial Service in celebration of her life at 6:00 p.m. with dinner to follow on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 at The Hindu Society Mandir, 2225 – 24th Avenue NE, Calgary, AB.

A consummate mother and homemaker, Krishena was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She had an unwavering faith in God & had a conversation with Him daily. She always had a way of making anyone who crossed her path, feel welcome. She was loved by many & was a friend, mother, aunt & grandmother to all.

Mrs. Sood passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at the Rockyview Hospital, in Calgary. Krishena Gajree was born May 18th, 1926 in Miwani, Kenya the daughter of Dosandiram and Atmadevi Gajree. She was united in marriage to Devinder Dass Sood May 19th, 1945 in Miwani, Kenya. He preceded her in death December 6th, 2007. They were married for 62 blissful years.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two of her sons, Kiran Sood in 1997 & Anil Sood in 1988.

She is survived by her son and his spouse; Arun & Raj Sood. And a loving granddaughter, Preeti Sood. She is also survived by her brother Bharat Bhushan Gajree & sister-in-law Saroj Gajree.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Calgary Food Bank.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Paramed HomeCare nursing staff for their continued service over the years & the Rockyview Hospital’s Ward 94 nurses, doctors & staff for their support in her final days.
