Our father took his last breath Friday morning February 23rd, 2024, at the age of 92 in comfort and at peace. Family members and many relatives, from multiple continents and in many languages said their farewells before his passing. He was a good man. He was a lucky man.

Kung Heng Chau was born in Panyu, Guangdong China, on August 19th, 1932.  He emigrated to Kowloon, Hong Kong in 1947.  He joined the Royal Hong Kong Police in 1950 and served for 26 years.  

Father married our mother Tung Hao To in 1957 and settled in Kowloon, Hong Kong where they had three children; Simon, Agnes, and Eddie.  After their children went to study overseas, our parents moved to Taipei, Taiwan in 1976.

Father and mother immigrated from Taipei, Taiwan to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1995.

A favourite thing father loved to do was storytelling, especially the one about him flexing his muscles to scare off some ne’er-do-well who was bothering mother when they were on a date. 

While having had only three years of formal education in China, father never stopped reading and there were always books of all subjects in his home. One time he decided to learn acupressure techniques and many benefited.

Father was adventurous, generous, gregarious, laughed often and loudly. We will miss his laughter.

Kung Heng Chau is survived by his wife of 67 years, Tung Hao, his three children Simon (Martha), Agnes (Sam), and Eddie (Rose), his seven grandchildren Amanda, Jonathan (Audrey), Corbin (Kirsten), Connor (Larissa), Sheldon, Peter, and Alex, and great-grandson Jonah.

Kung Heng Chau is also survived by his sister San Mui in China, and many nephews, nieces, extended family members and close friends around the world.

Kung Heng Chau was predeceased by his parents, a brother, and a younger sister, who all lived in China.

爸爸於2024年2月23日星期五早上，在舒適和平靜中輕輕地離開了人世，享年92歲。多位身在中國大陸的家人和許居住在不同地方的親戚在他去世前也曾直接向他慰問。他是一個有福氣的人。

 

周鞏恆弟兄於1932年8月19日出生於中國廣東番禺。1947年移居至香港九龍。1950年他考入了香港皇家警察，並在那裡服務了26年。

 

1957年爸爸與我們的媽媽杜東好女仕結婚，定居在香港九龍，育有三個子女：周世聰Simon、周珮坤Agnes和周世鴻Eddie。在孩子們出國留學後，爸媽倆於1976年移居到台灣台北。他們於1995年從台灣台北移民至加拿大艾伯塔省卡加里。

 

爸爸最喜歡做的一件事就是講故事，尤其是那個關於他有一次跟媽媽在戲院中看電影，有一個對媽媽沒有禮貌的人，爸爸轉身向那人展示手臂上的「老鼠仔」及胸前的六塊大腹肌把那個人嚇跑。

 

雖然爸爸在成長間只接受了三年的正規教育，但他從未停止從閱讀中追求知識，家中總是擺滿各類主題的書。他是一位喜歡學習，無師自通的人；例如，他決定學習穴位推拿，從此不少人也就受益了。

 

爸爸勇於冒險，慷慨大方，健談，經常開懷大笑。我們會懷念他的笑聲。

 

周鞏恆弟兄的妻子杜東好跟他一起共渡了67年豐滿的婚姻生活，他們育有三個孩子：周世聰Simon（妻子馬詩玉Martha）、周珮坤Agnes（丈夫馬潮富Sam）和周世鴻Eddie（妻子Rose）。此外，他還有七個孫子孫女：周詠詩Amanda、周敬文Jonathan（妻子Audrey）、周敬邦Corbin（妻子Kirsten）、周敬武Connor（妻子Larissa）、馬日平Sheldon、馬日安Peter和周詠真Alex，以及曾孫尼永森Jonah。

 

周鞏恆弟兄的三妹仍居中國，還有許多散播在世界各地的侄子、侄女、及其他親戚朋友。

 

周鞏恆弟兄的父母、一位弟弟和妹妹都曾在中國生活，他們都先於他去世。

 

周鞏恆弟兄的喪禮將於2024年3月2日下午2:30（山區時間）在COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES（位於加拿大艾伯塔省卡加里16號街東北11995號）舉行。
