Madan Singh Chana, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021 at the age of 81 years.  Madan will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Country Hills Crematorium – 11995 – 16 Street, NE, Calgary at 1:00 pm. Followed by Paath Bogh and Langar at Dashmesh Culture Centre – 135 Martindale Blvd, NE, Calgary.

Madan Singh Chana was born in 1939 in Ghingran, Punjab, to Joginder Singh and Pritam Kaur. He was predeceased by his father Joginder Singh, mother Pritam Kaur, wife Mohinder Kaur, daughter-in-law Jaswinder Kaur, and granddaughter.

Madan worked as an electrician in Dubai and retired in Phagwara, Punjab, India and moved to Calgary, Alberta in 2012. He enjoyed many hobbies such as riding his bicycle around the neighbourhood, taking pride in his garden, and spent his free time at the Gurudwara and community centre with his friends.

His grandchildren called him “Gramps”, they enjoyed going on long drives with him and treating him with Iced Capps. Gramps was known for making his famous five min cup of cha. In addition, he loved to collect various types of currency and stamps. He will be remembered for his chuckle and thumbs up.

He will be missed dearly by his sons Satwant Singh, Amarjit Singh, daughter-in-law Sarabjit Kaur, grandchildren, cousins, and extended family.
