Major Harchand Singh Buttar was born on June 2, 1930 in Chak 233 Lyallpur, Pakistan. He peacefully passed away on Feb 18, 2017 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the age of 86. He left behind a loving wife, three daughters, a son, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. After offering 36 years of service for the Indian Army, he retired as a respectful and honorable Major. His book titled “Maintenance of Small Arms,” is still a valuable resource for the Indian Army. We will always remember him by his humble, kind, compassionate and courageous nature and hope to pass on his wisdom to our future generations.
He will be dearly missed by his family & friends in Canada and in India. Funeral services will be held at Country Hills Crematorium on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 11:00am.
Rest in peace Pitaji,. You will always be close to our heart and will try to walk on the path you showed us.
